Good Evening AMSA-Indonesia,
It was updated that 1,234 dead, 799 wounded, 99 missing, 48,025 refugees with little to none medical aid and even other daily needs such as food supplies in the recent earthquake and tsunami located in Donggala, Palu and the surrounding region.
On behalf of the Regional Chairperson of AMSA-Indonesia 2018/2019, we would like to inform you that Open Recruitment for Emergency Relief: Donggala, Palu and The Surrounding Region has officially start and will end at Saturday, 6th of October 2018 (23.59 WIB). The chosen volunteer will be announced on Tuesday, 09 October 2018. Chosen volunteers may cancel their participation latest at Wednesday, 10 October 2018 (12.00 WIB).
Every AMSA-Indonesia member is given the chance to list and be a part to be a volunteer to help our friends and family in Donggala, Palu and the surrounding region, by submitting:
1. Volunteer form (http://bit.ly/VolunteerERSulawesi)
2. Informed consent
3. Copy of identification card (KTP)
4. Motivation letter
Submit all the requirements to [email protected] before Saturday, 6th of October 2018 (23:59 WIB)
Our timeline/activity will involve:
1. Distributing food to the survivors.
2. Distributing water to the survivors.
3. Distributing blankets for free.
4. Distributing clothes, toys to the children in the location.
5. Medicine to the government medical team in the area.
6. Finding more survivors in the ruins with other NGOs.
7. Distributing donations and help to AMSA-Indonesia member who are victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
The volunteers would be divided into two groups where they will do either of the itinerary listed above, depending on their qualifications.
Volunteers will be given accommodation, food, and other supplies provided by AMSA-Indonesia collaborating with other NGOs. Transportation (from our pick up locations in Sulawesi) to the site will also be aided. At the end of the Emergency Relief, volunteers will be given certificates for their contribution.

FINALIST OF MAWAPRES 2015
Mahasiswa Berprestasi competition is a competition that is held by Catholic University of Atma Jaya every year to choose the best college student from all faculties. This competition is pretty though because it needs academic and non-academic skills, also the finalists are required to speak fluently both in bahasa and english, act positive, and have Pancasila spirit. Following his seniors’ steps, Ferdy Iskandar and Fidelis Jacklyn Adella (2014), Tommy succeeded to be one of several finalists in the grand final of Mahasiswa Berprestasi Competition. Altough he didn’t make it, he felt really grateful because he got many values from this competition. He also still want to share his experience in joining this competition.
At first Tommy wanted to join this competition because this competition is a positive activity and he also wanted to enrich his experience, knowledge, and his self esteem. To him, this competition is to measure how far his ability can bring him. In this competition he also met many awesome finalists from different faculties, judges from different faculties or from parliament. He also felt very happy to know more about Atma Jaya in Semanggi because Atma Jaya Faculty of Medicine is located in Pluit so there is a gap between them. He also got superb guidance from his tutor and got awesome support from his colleagues.
He said that this competition is exciting! Maybe at first it will be tiring but every big struggle will produce a big outcome too. He also encourage all Atma Jaya faculty of medicine college students to don’t be afraid to try, and don’t hestitate to get out from their comfort zone and be the ultimate of yourselves! If you need tips & tricks, don’t hestitate to ask him or the other seniors!
